Charles Grossklaus has been active with Royal Credit Union (RCU) for 35 years, acting as its CEO since 1984. Under his leadership, RCU has grown from a $5 million dollar credit union serving Uniroyal employees to a $753 million institution serving over 104,000 members with 12 offices and 29 ATMs in 18 counties. In addition, RCU has made and services $650 million in real estate loans and is the number one lender in three counties. Under his leadership RCU has received numerous awards for economic community development. He has been actively involved with the credit union movement both on the state and national level as a Wisconsin Credit Union League director from 1985 to 1996 and serving as chairperson of the board from 1993 to 1996. He also served on the Credit Union Council for the National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors' (NASCUS) Board, where he served as chairperson for two years. Grossklaus has served on the CUNA Government Affairs Committee. In 1997 he was elected to the TYME Board in Wisconsin and then retained a seat on the executive board as treasurer. TYME merged with PULSE in 2002, and he now retains a seat on the PULSE/Discover Board. In addition, he was appointed to the Filene Research Institute's Council in 2002. In his local community, Grossklaus has served as chairman for several nonprofit organizations during his years at RCU. He has been chairperson of the Development Council for the Children’s Museum of Eau Claire and the Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce Board. He served on the Chancellor Selection Committee for UW–EC. Currently, Grossklaus serves on the Grant Committee for the Eau Claire Area Foundation, co-chairs the Leadership Circle for United Way, is president of Downtown Eau Claire, Inc., is secretary of the CVTC Foundation Board, is on the Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce Educational Foundation and is on the board for Momentum Chippewa Valley. Grossklaus is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire and has received many honors and awards. Some of these include: Luther Hospital–the Good Samaritan Award; Chippewa Valley Technical College–Award of Excellence for contributions to secondary and post-secondary vocational education; the State of Wisconsin Vocational Association for outstanding contributions to vocational education in the State of Wisconsin; Eau Claire DECA–Businessman of the Year; PBX Telecommunications–Boss of the Year; and the University of Wisconsin Alumni Association–President’s Award.
