| James Klauser joined Wisconsin Energy Corp. in 1998 as senior vice president. Prior to coming to Wisconsin Energy Corp., he was a senior partner with the law firm of Dewitt Ross and Stevens, Madison, Wis.
Klauser is a member of the Board of Regents of the Milwaukee School of Engineering and a trustee of Carthage College, Kenosha, Wis. He is a member of the boards of directors of the Wisconsin Policy Research Institute and the Wisconsin Regional Training Partnership. He also is a director of Joy Global Inc., formerly Harnischfeger Industries, Inc., a worldwide leader in manufacturing, servicing and distributing equipment for surface and underground mining. Klauser is a member of the Governance and Public Policy Board of Visitors of the Department of Political Science and the La Follette School of Public Affairs, University of Wisconsin–Madison. In addition, he is a Regent Emeritus of the University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents.
Klauser has extensive experience in government and public affairs serving as Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Administration, special counsel to the Governor as well as serving on numerous boards, commissions and committees. He served as chairman for campaigns for Governor Thompson and President Bush and has been active in state and national Republican organizations.
Klauser received a bachelor of science degree in 1961, a juris doctorate in 1964 and a master of arts in public law in 1968, all from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. |
